Train your students to be good vocabulary learners

Motivate your students to use a dictionary (monolingual or bilingual) and record the words they have looked up in each unit. Tell them to write not only the meaning but also the part of speech, a sentence where the word appears and also a synonym.
You should regularly give them sentences where they should guess the meaning of a word from the context. This will make them feel much more confident.

Give regular vocabulary quizzes to make your students learn because most of the times it is the only way to have your students studying vocabulary seriously.

It is a good idea to have a vocabulary box in class where you add new words every day after you have told them the meaning of it. The words in this box can be used to play games like OSO, tic-tac-toe, etc.

It is also a good idea to display words on the walls with pictures related to them and change them regularly after students have got used to them.
