Give the students a copy of the sentence components below:

Make sure the sentences the children prepare grammatically correct before you start playing the game (if you have a large class, this is impractical unless you collect in all the cards and correct them for the next lesson). When all the children are ready, call out one of the words from your master grid e.g. ‘can’t’ or ‘long hair’. The children with the word cross it off their card. Keep calling out words from the grid until someone has a line ‘You are ten’. Ask the child who says he/she has a line to read it out so that you can check it. Keep going until a child has three full sentences.
